The alien (エイリアン eirian?, alien) is a supporting character in the movie Gekijōban Dōbutsu no Mori. In addition, the alien appears as a secret in New Leaf and New Horizons, appearing in game during a certain time (ex. 3:33 AM on a Saturday in New Horizons) on active televisions. It will speak in gibberish for some time before broadcasts return to normal.

In Gekijōban Dōbutsu no Mori[]

The Alien, or at least a member of its kin, appears in the final act. Upon finding two components for Gulliver's U.F.O., one of the components reveals itself to be the Alien, a sentient being. The Alien thanks Ai for her selflessness and reunites with its family.

In the film, the alien is very simplistic in design, being nothing more than a black metallic blob with three stubs attached to its bottom. To make up for its simplicity, however, the alien is very malleable, having the ability to shapeshift its body into different forms, including Ai's face.

In the games[]

In New Leaf, it is depicted as a thin humanoid silhouette under a bright spotlight. In New Horizons, its design is more apparent, as the silhouette now shows generic alien features, most notably its large, bug-like eyes.

Trivia[]

  • At the time of the film's release, the alien was the only character who is completely original to the film. It could not be found in the games until New Leaf, which released six years later, nor does it have an equivalent like Ai and to the player.
  • The alien is also the only fairly prominent character to lack a voice throughout the film.
