OK. We've got the voting pages for creating, moving, deleting, promoting and the other one, so where's the one for policy-related matters? Answer = here.
This is where we vote on changes to policy, rules, page layout, etc.
How to vote
Basic voting rules apply here.
- Support:: {{Support}} counts as +1 for the passing of the proposal.
- Oppose:: Likewise, {{oppose}} counts as -1.
- Neutral:: {{Neutral}} counts as +0.
- Comment:: Leave a {{comment}}.
+4 equals pass, -4 equals FORGET IT; if no judgment is reached after 2 weeks, proposal is moved to archive. You may try again after 4 weeks.
A proposal's total can be calculated by adding all of the votes together: eg 1 neutral, 2 oppose and 3 support equals +1, because 0 + 0 - 1 - 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 1.

Minimum mainspace edit requirement for promotion
07:56, August 6, 2010 (UTC) I have seen that a lot of users are requesting promotion recently, and some have very few mainspace edits. I think there should be a required number of these, because they can just post 500 blog comments and become an admin. Super (duh...)Alpaca 07:56, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose: I oppose because someone could simply put 'a' on a page and that would be classed as an edit. Even if a user has 2'000 edits, you can never prove they are a worthy editor and make sensible and helpful contributions. --Cornimer My User Page My Talk Page My Contributions 15:45, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose: I agree with the comment above. You never know what people will put on the page. Also, putting them in a place of power without really knowing what they edit might not be fair to the people who make big edits but don't edit a lot. --User:CarribuChan

- Neutral: I think that when you vote for some-one, it's because you trust that they'll do well. You will know if they've made lots of page or blog edits, if you actually get to know and trust them. We all know that Fan12 wasn't elected as roll-backer, due to extreme amounts of blog edits. We knew that (Or at least I did) because we became friends and knew each-other, and beacuse we knew each-other, we knew who would make a better roll-backer/admin. These votes should be made on trust, not edits.......thank you. Minifig-me, check out my page! 20:05, August 6, 2010 (UTC)

Blog comment bumping
18:17, August 12, 2010 (UTC)
On many forums across the web, there is a rule that one is not allowed to 'bump' a topic, that is, post a comment after a certain amount of time is elapsed. The Animal Crossing Wiki's equivalent of a forum thread is of course, blogs and blog comments. Imposing a restriction of after, say, 2 weeks, a user is not permitted to add a comment to a blog post would free up Recent Changes somewhat, and allow users to quickly get to the 'hot topics' without having to scroll through several n00bs posting on topics that are over a month old. Dragonfree OVER 4,500 Animal Crossing Wiki EDITS
I can't say I've ever noticed this to be a problem. Bumping blogs on a Wikia isn't as annoying as a thread on a forum, and they're easy to ignore as they only appear as an unclickable mention. If anything, constant edits to an article would be more annoying than bumped blogs, especially as they're few and far between :) - MerrytonRyan 20:18, August 12, 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose:: I don't think it's a big deal, actually, bumping blogs has sometimes improved the wiki. Minifig-me, check out my page! 19:51, August 14, 2010 (UTC)
- Neutral:: No idea what this means... Super (duh...)Alpaca 16:35, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
Block IPs
16:35, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
This topic usually comes up when an annoying anon user keeps vandalizing. This means that to edit, a person must create an account. No unregistered users. I am not personally supporting this now, I will vote later, but this has been brought up. An example of a wiki with this is MarioWiki. Super (duh...)Alpaca 16:35, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose: It would be wrong to block all IP users. Some are helpful. NintendoLover is OUT! 16:36, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose:Punishing ALL IP users is wrong. Just because a minority have malicious intentions doesn't mean the majority do too. Besides, we get registered users doing it sometimes too. - MerrytonRyan 18:14, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Neutral: I don't know, I mean some are spamvandalisers, but not all are. So, i can't really decide. Sailor sofia, the epic 18:23, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: ALL? i thought you ment spammers... NintendoLover is OUT! 18:15, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: I assume we mean all - the Mario Wiki comment suggests they block them completely, rather than block the few who spam. We block IP users that spam already, so it would be weird to bring that up :) - MerrytonRyan 18:19, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: Yes, this is a vote to not allow ANY non-registered user to edit. Super (duh...)Alpaca 18:21, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: I definitely oppose this then. Quite a few IPs do alot of work on here, and it's useful if you're out or on the phone and see an edit that needs doing and you can't remember your password off by heart :) - MerrytonRyan 18:26, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: can i change to oppose then? NintendoLover is OUT! 18:27, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: - Can't see any problem with that. It's best to have definite answers, especially after they've been discussed than answers that haven't been discussed :) - MerrytonRyan 18:29, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose: I don't know if you heard this, but the last time I checked, it says ANYONE can edit the wiki. Un-registered should be allowed to edit. After all, that's the policy of the wiki, to let evryone edit, account or no account. Besides, a registered conributor can cause just as much trouble. Users should only be blocked if they did something wrong. Minifig-me, check out my page! <^> 17:10, August 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose: I agree with Minifig.;P-Anteater99 12:43, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

- Comment:: I believe this would be a bad idea, but I do know that the Muppet Wiki employs a policy where new anon users get a 5 edit trial period, before they are blocked and to continue editing are required to create an account. Just saying. Dragonfree 5000! 19:04, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

- Comment: - I know that the Winx Club Wiki has this rule. They were getting a lot of vandalism. It is true though that it does say that anyone can edit. The only problem is that we don't know who anyone is. The only solution I could think of is to keep track of the IPs and if there are certain ones that seem to cause trouble, block those. -CarribuChan 17:13 (UTC) September 13, 2010

Demote inactive admins
22:56, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
This may seem like a buzz kill and unnessesary, but admin rights are a privllage. I think that, at least the ones that do not come on, should be demoted. If they still come on sometimes, they have admin rights, not b'crat rights. If they never come on, then they are demoted to rollback rights. If one of them becomes active, then they can automatically become an admin in one week of activeness. This is so the wiki does not have 20 admins, most inactive. It will make the new/unregistered users able to more easily contact an active admin, and make it seem more like a privledge than most users being admins. Super (duh...)Alpaca 22:56, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment:I can see your point, but as far as I remember the Wiki has always dealt with this problem anyway and has an unwritten way of dealing with rights and management. If anything, you just message whoever it is and get their side of the story. Some admins, bureaucrats and rollbackers may just moderate the wiki, rather than take a fully active roll where they just edit like crazy. You literally have to go by demoting someone if they do not use the wiki anymore, or at least a few appearances every so often. It's a shame you can't really see who is online and when, like on a forum - MerrytonRyan 23:01, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
- Support: I think this needs support. I remember having many questions when I first started, and I couldn't figure out who were admins, and if they were active....or anything! The wiki will be improved if this goes through. Minifig-me, check out my page! <^> 17:53, August 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: - Any recommendations on how to advertise active Admins, Minifig-me? I can only think of the automated Wiki talk page response which new users get when they make a post and register. It's hard to think of other suggestions :/ - MerrytonRyan 20:46, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

Move to Different Server
Wikia have been acting screwishly recently. The skin, then not listening about the skin, the achievements rubbish that was terrible, then blocking ACFan12 for stuff he didn't even know he did... so I'm proposing a move to a different server. Anywhere, other than here. Dragonfree 5000! 20:54, October 25, 2010 (UTC)
- Support: I agree 100%. Wikia's caused enough trouble. What did they even do for this wiki, anyway that they think they're the heads? They didn't do squat, and, if anything, they ruined this wiki several times. ~~C-Star55~~

- Support: I totally agree, i don't want to risk being blocked and we have had a lot of problems. Sailor sofia, the epic 21:41, October 25, 2010 (UTC).
- Comment: Wikia's servers. Avatar loading takes that time for everyone. Even now, I sometimes see C-Star's avatar as the Riolu... Dragonfree 5000! 21:11, October 25, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: With 3 agrees (which, if I'm correct, are enough to do the act), I believe this is enough to make the new wiki. ~~C-Star55~~
- Comment: Hmmm, I wouldn't rush immediately. This is quite a big move so more people should be involved. This isn't something small, like whether or not a page has the right name or not. I'm sort of in support, but if Wikia sort themselves out, then maybe staying put would be a wiser option. Afterall, we have more links to here and we're at the top of Google Searches, plus a history :) So yeah: I support, but if Wikia solve their problems then we should stay put - MerrytonRyan 04:20, October 26, 2010 (UTC)
- Comment: Wait, you mean, transfer the wiki to a different site? That could get messy, and I'm not that adventerous. I think that we should give this some time, like MerrytonRyan said. If more problems occur, then the move should happen. I'm just a little afraid of changes. Minifig-me, bOiNg!!! 18:34, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Time themes
I noticed that the pages that have the themes for times of the day are a bit mis-marked. The pages are named by the time they are describing. Ex: 9 A.M. They should be named "9 A.M. Theme" etc. Otherwise, the page should also discuss what goes on during those times. Minifig-me, bOiNg!!! 21:05, November 28, 2010 (UTC)
