Azalea (ペチュニア, Pechunia^?, Petunia) is a snooty rhino villager from the Animal Crossing series. While she originally only appeared in Animal Forest e+, Azalea returned to the series in New Horizons with the November 5th, 2021 2.0 Update.

Azalea has the nature hobby.

Appearance

Azalea in Animal Forest e+

Azalea is a light blue rhino that has a white flower around her yellow horn. Her lower jaw is white. She wears pink eye shadow and is very pale. She has black, tired eyes and the inside of her ears match her eye shadow, which is pink. Her initial shirt in Animal Forest e+ is the rickrack shirt. In New Horizons, she initially wears a sleeveless tunic.

Personality

Azalea has a snooty personality, which means she loves makeup and gossiping. As a snooty villager, Azalea will first appear rude and arrogant towards the player, often talking about herself and her own experiences. She also speaks about the style and appearance of other villagers, usually other female villagers such as normal, peppy, and other snooty villagers. She will soon warm up to the player, confiding in them about their own feelings but still keeping subtly rude. Azalea will not get along with lazy villagers due to them not caring about their appearance or the lazy villagers hating what she eats, and she won't get along with jock villagers because they will question her on her physical appearance and they won't worry about fashion. However, she will get along with cranky villagers due to their similar rude personalities, and usually normal villagers as well.

House

In Animal Forest e+, Azalea's house is the same as Huck's, but has the daisy meadow and the backyard fence with either Café K.K. or Two Days Ago playing on her turntable.

In New Horizons, Azalea has a fireplace with a Mom's candle set on it. She also has a blue cute DIY Table, a Nordic table with pink Casablanca lilies on it, a stonework kitchen, a cuckoo clock on the wall, and a blue patchwork bed and patchwork chair. She has the blue quilt wall and wooden-knot flooring.

Pocket Camp

Azalea was added to Pocket Camp in the November 29, 2021 update.

Azalea's preferred theme is natural, and she primarily gives paper as a reward. Her profile reads:

❝ Azalea is as elegant as a rose and equally as thorny. If you catch her in a bad mood, don't take it personally.❞

• In every language, she is named after flowers, but mostly the azalea in the West and the petunia in the East. Another villager named after this flower is the removed cow villager, Petunia
• Azalea is one of the eight returning villagers that came with New Horizons's 2.0 update, along with Faith, Rio, Zoe, Ace, Chabwick, Frett, and Roswell.
  • She, along with the other returnees, was added to Pocket Camp in an update that was released some time after the release of New Horizons's 2.0 update.
• Azalea shares a birthday with Fang, the cranky wolf, as they both have birthdays on December 18.
• In New Horizons, Azalea's preferred styles are Elegant/Gorgeous, and her preferred colors are Purple/Pink.
