Baabara (トロワ,Torowa?, Trois) is a snootysheepvillager who first appeared in Animal Forest and has appeared throughout all of the Animal Crossing series games so far. Baabara's name is a pun on the name 'Barbara' and the onomatopoeic sound sheep make, which is "baa". Baabara's initial catchphrase, "daahling," is also a pun on the noise sheep make and the word "darling" and is similar to Julia's catchphrase, "dahling." Her Japanese name comes from the French word for "3". She has the fashion hobby.
Baabara has coffee-bean color tone presently viewed on her arms, face, and legs, which contrasts with her puffy, pale blue coat. She has purple horns, which blend in with the pale blue tones in her woolly coat. Baabara's eyes have defined eyelashes and a brownish outline to them. Her smile is open-mouthed. She has eyeshadow, which goes with her snooty personality. She has a similar resemblance to Wendy, another sheep villager with a similar coloring of wool and brown fur. She wears initially wears the Purple Tie-Dye Shirt.
Below is a brief description of the snooty personality. For more information, click here.
Baabara has a snooty personality, which means she loves make-up and gossiping. As a snooty villager, Baabara will first appear rude and arrogant towards the player, often talking about herself and her own experiences. She also speaks about the style and appearance of other villagers, usually other female villagers such as normal, peppy, and other snooty villagers. She will soon warm up to the player, confiding in them about their own feelings but still keeping subtly rude. Baabara will not get along with lazy villagers due to them not caring about their appearance or the lazy villagers hating what she eats, and she won't get along with jockvillagers because they will question her on her physical appearance and they won't worry about fashion. However, she will get along with cranky villagers due to their similar rude personalities, and usually normal villagers as well.
In New Leaf, Baabara's home has undergone a revamp. She now has an ebony piano, a classic sofa, a cabana dresser, and a bass. Her parquet flooring has also been replaced by the rococo floor.
In New Horizons, Baabara's house is brown with a white fancy door and a purple tiled roof. The interior has the stormy-night wall and the brown iron-parquet flooring. She has a black antique chair, console table, mini table, and vanity. She also has a black whirlpool bath, a black shower booth, a black poolside bed, a white beach towel, blue fragrance sticks, and a phonograph that plays K.K. Cruisin'. A black 50 inch wall-mounted TV hangs on the wall.
Baabara is an absolute nut when it comes to aerobics. She can point out the slightest flaw in someone's routine, whether it's a low leg-kick or a stiff knee-bend. Of course, she thinks her own routines are flawless.
Baabara's initial catchphrase sparked some controversy on gaming review websites. When Nintendo released fourteen advance copies of Wild World to the press, there were already towns set up on the game cartridges. Baabara's catchphrase had been tampered with, and "daahling" had been replaced with an offensive word. More information can be found here.
