Biff (ガブリエル,Gaburieru?, Gabriel) is a jockhippovillager from the Animal Crossing series. The name "Biff" comes from the adjective "buff." Biff is a name often derived with bullying individuals or those obsessed with muscles, perhaps an allusion to his jock personality. Biff also means beef in Swedish. Biff made his first appearance in Animal Forest. The Spanish name, Pipo, may derive from the Spaniard clay containers as they both share a similitude to shape and dark coloring. Biff's departure from Animal Crossing was made apparent in Wild World and City Folk but reintroduced with the release of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, marking a reappearance into the series. He has the fitness hobby.
Biff is a reddish-brown hippo (a lighter red in New Horizons), and his cheeks and hooves are a lighter mauve color. He has only two teeth showing, like all hippo villagers. He has round, cartoony eyes with thick angry eyebrows. Biff wears a Gold Tee (a Jagged Shirt in all games prior). At first glance, the player could mistake him for a cranky villager, due to his angry looks.

Biff has a jock personality and has a great interest in sports and bodybuilding. Jock villagers are hyperactive and motivated, but often come across as self-centered and dense. As a jock villager, Biff is very interested in his hobby, and may compete against the player at catching bugs and fish. Jock villagers get along with peppy, cranky, and sisterly villagers, but conflict with the laid-back lifestyle of lazy villagers. Snooty villagers may also be difficult to get along with for Biff.
House
In Animal Crossing, Biff's house has a country theme, with various items from the Green Series located within his home as house decor. He also owns two guitars. K.K. Blues is played on a Reel-to-Reel.
In New Leaf, his house looks a bit like a basketball court in the city. He has a telephone booth, as well as a basketball hoop.
Biff comes off as a typical jock. True, he is a thick-headed powerhouse who likes to call people "squirt," but once you get to know him, you'll find that he's a NICE thick-headed powerhouse.
