“DON'T TOUCH THAT! IT'S MINE! MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE! Sorry, nougat. I'm getting nervous about this sale.”
― Carmen, City Folk
“I just LOVE chatting it up with friends! Makes me feel like we’re just that much closer, y’know?”
― Carmen, Pocket Camp
Carmen (チョコ, Choko?, Choco) is a peppy rabbit villager who was introduced in City Folk. Her English name likely derives from caramel, a type of candy, while her Japanese name derives from chocolate. Her initial phrase is a reference to a confectionery treat, which is made with nuts. She has the fashion hobby.
She appears on the cover for K.K. March.
Appearance

Carmen in City Folk
Carmen is a dark brown rabbit with a white face and white tipped paws, a tail, and a nose. Her eyes are small and black, giving off a smug side-eyed look, which could confuse her for a sisterly villager, despite how she is peppy. Her inner ears are a bright, aqua blue, and she has small, pink blush marks on her cheeks. She has a distinct gap in her teeth. There is a brown sweep of fur across her forehead that seems to imitate side-swept bangs. Her initial clothing is the Blue Retro Shirt in City Folk, the Mint Gingham Tee in New Leaf, and the Plaid-Print Dress in New Horizons.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the peppy personality. For more information, click here. |
Peppy villagers appear to be in a good mood often and are easy to become friends with. As a peppy villager, Carmen will have the tendency to over-react in conversations about trivial subjects, and will usually be over-excited to see the player or other villagers. This villager, like other peppy villagers, will rarely be discouraged from doing anything, including the usual hobbies. Peppy villagers dream of becoming famous in the future and read Ms. Nintendique, an unseen magazine read by snooty, normal, and other peppy villagers in the Animal Crossing Series. Peppy villagers will also have a very short attention span, which means they soon forget some arguments or tasks given to the player which weren't completed. Carmen may easily get upset in conversation when the wrong things are said. She will get along well with other villagers, particularly lazy, normal, jock, sisterly and other peppy villagers, but she may annoy and upset cranky and snooty villagers, whose personalities differ to hers. Due to the nature of peppy villagers, she may mention how "old" or "boring" cranky villagers are compared to her opposing, upbeat personality.
House
Carmen's house in City Folk has a space theme, which may be a whimsical reference of the rabbit on the moon found in Japanese folklore. Her room features almost all of the furniture from the space theme series of furniture and her tape deck plays K.K. Technopop.
Carmen's house has been revamped completely in New Leaf. It now contains many pieces from the Alpine Series, as well as the Modern Wood Bed, an electric kettle, a flat-screen TV, and the normal sized Dekkoid from the Dekkoid gyroid family. She has K.K. Technopop playing on a Reel-to-Reel.
Carmen's house has been revamped completely once again in New Horizons.
