Chabwick (のぶお, Nobuo^?) is a lazy penguin villager from the Animal Crossing series, first appearing in Animal Forest e+. In Animal Forest e+, he can only move into a village if the player has his e-Card. On October 15, 2021, Chabwick was revealed to be returning to New Horizons a month afterwards. He has the play hobby.

Appearance

Chabwick in Animal Forest e+

Chabwick is a dark blue penguin, with white on some parts. He has a black X (which is clear in New Horizons) in the middle of his stomach which is his belly button. He has a large yellow beak and red headphones. His eyes look tired, which complements his lazy personality. Chabwick initially wears the paw tee in Animal Forest e+ and the nine-ball tee in New Horizons.

Personality

As a lazy villager, Chabwick will be friendly and easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he has a love of food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food, like when fishing. Chabwick will get along well with other villagers, but may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a lifestyle of exercise and fitness, which conflicts with the lazy lifestyle of relaxing and food. He will get along with other lazy villagers with whom he will talk about food, comics, or superheroes. He will also get along well with normal, peppy, smug, and sisterly villagers, and occasionally cranky villagers, but may from time to time annoy snooty villagers, who disagree with the lazy lifestyle.

House

In Animal Forest e+, Chabwick has the same house as Twirp does, with the difference being the concrete wall and the concrete flooring. K.K. D&B is played on a tape deck.

In New Horizons, Chabwick's house is customized to be a shaved ice parlor, and K.K. Dub plays on his cute music player.

Pocket Camp

Chabwick was added to Pocket Camp in the November 29, 2021 update.

Chabwick's preferred theme is natural, and he primarily gives cotton as a reward. His profile reads:

❝ Chabwick never gets cold...except for his ears. He'll wear a T-shirt in a snowstorm and eat a frozen treat when it's hailing, but he won't go anywhere without his earmuffs.❞

Trivia

• Despite being a penguin, he has a belly button, which penguins don't have in real life.
  • He is also one of the few Animal Crossing characters to have one, the others being Tangy, Barold, Wendell, and all Tanukis.
• His name is similar to Chadwick.
• He is one of the only lazy villagers to react with different reactions similar to multiple snooty and cranky villagers.
• Chabwick is one of the eight returning villagers that came with New Horizons's 2.0 update, along with Azalea, Faith, Rio, Zoe, Ace, Frett, and Roswell.
  • He, along with the other returnees, was added to Pocket Camp in an update that was released some time after the release of New Horizons's 2.0 update.
• In New Horizons, Chabwick's preferred styles are Active/Cute, and his preferred colors are Gray/Yellow.
• He, like Marcel and Shino does not appear in the plaza because his birthday is on Toy Day.
• He shares a birthday with Jingle, the host of Toy Day, as they both have birthdays on December 24^th.
