Chief (チーフ, Chīfu?, Chief) is a cranky wolf villager that appears in all Animal Crossing games. His initial phrase, "harrumph," is a sign of boredom or annoyance, which is consistent with his personality as a cranky villager. His name may be a reference to the leader of a wolf pack; sometimes called the chief.
Appearance
Chief is a deep orange wolf with a pointed snout, and perky ears. Because of his sophistication and long eyelashes, he may look like a snooty villager, and more like a fox than a wolf. His paws and muzzle are white in color, and his ears tipped dark brown. His eyes appear to be half closed. Initially, he wears the Red-Bar Tee. On rainy days, he carries the Elegant Umbrella.

Cranky villagers will usually appear in a grouchy or agitated mood. When talking to the player, cranky villagers tend to become angry if the player disagrees with them or refuses to do a favor. Like all cranky villagers, Chief will be invested in his hobby and will often challenge the player to various competitions. He will easily get along with jock, snooty, and other cranky villagers, and occasionally lazy and normal villagers as well. However, he will find it hard to socialize with peppy villagers, as they will seem overstimulated or immature.
House
Initially Chief has a few beds in his house; but in games like Wild World, he has a bunch of clocks instead of beds. He favors robo and construction themed items and furniture. He has the Metal Floor and Industry Wall. If Chief has a stereo in his house, it will play DJ K.K.. The song's intense rhythm matches the theme of his house and his personality. In Animal Crossing, he has various Modern items, as well as an assortment of clocks.

At level 25, he will reward you with sparkle stones (x1).
At level 30, he will reward you with sparkle stones (x1).
