Cooking is a new DIY mechanic released on November 5th, 2021, in the New Horizons 2.0 update. You can unlock Cooking by redeeming the Be A Chef! DIY Recipes+ for 
3,000 Nook Miles. The player can obtain cooking recipes the same way the player obtains DIY recipes; from the player's daily message bottle, from a villager who is cooking in their house, or from buying them from Nook's Cranny. There are a few new ways to obtain these recipes. For example, when the player catches a fish, there is a chance that the player will come up with a recipe including that fish, or the player can get a special cookie recipe from Brewster if the player visits him enough.
