“Mmm, when it's this sunny, it's like the sky is giving me a big hug, neigh!”
― Epona, New Leaf
Epona is a peppy horse villager from the Animal Crossing series, introduced in the Welcome Amiibo update. Epona is one of a few villagers that may appear in the campground after the Amiibo is scanned. When a Sheik, Ocarina of Time Link, Link Rider, or Majora's Mask amiibo is scanned, Epona can be invited to live in the town. Her birthday is also the day The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was first released in Japan.
Along with other RV-exclusive villagers, Epona can't be invited to the town if their own house is still present in the town. Once they have packed boxes and left, they may be "adopted" again.
Epona is a stylized horse villager designed to resemble the character of the same name in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and other Legend of Zelda games.

There is no amiibo card. The only way to get her is by using the Sheik, Ocarina of Time Link, Link Rider, or Majora's Mask Link amiibo figure from the Legend Of Zelda Series.
- Epona's birthday is November 21st. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launched on November 21st, 1998, and was the first game to feature Epona.
