Flimsy tools

Flimsy tools are a new variant of the tool kit that was added in New Horizons. The tools are made of tree branches and different types of wood, with the exception of the Flimsy Axe, which requires one additional stone. They act as starter tools, making them less durable than standard tools. The Flimsy variant was added to the Axe, Fishing Rod, Net, Shovel, and Watering Can.

Obtaining Flimsy Tools

The first way to obtain Flimsy Tools is through the Resident Services building. The DIY Workbench is used to craft them, but the Axe, Shovel, and Watering Can require DIY Recipes.

Another way is to obtain these items is to buy them from Nook's Cranny in the cabinet. However, this means a resident must already own the desired flimsy tool, or the player must have the DIY recipe for it to be available for purchase.

The final way to acquire flimsy tools is to purchase them with Nook Miles from Wilbur. They can only be purchased this way by going on a mystery tour, talking to Wilbur, and selecting "I need tools." from the menu.
