Frett Gallery

Frett (シャンペン, Shanpen?, Champagne) is a cranky dog villager in the Animal Crossing series. His original appearance was in Animal Forest e+ and he could only move into a village if the player has his e-Card. Frett returned in the series in New Horizons with the November 5th Free Content Update as part of Amiibo Series 5.

His Japanese name is likely based after the alcoholic beverage champagne, which has a similar color to his fur, while his English name is likely derived from Fred and the word "fret", meaning "to worry or to be in a state of anxiety". This is also evident in his initial phrase, "goshers," which could reference Goofy in his Everyman cartoons.

Frett has the music hobby.

Animal Forest e+

Frett is a yellow dog with a white muzzle. His nose and the tips of his ears and tail are brown. He has round, wide eyes and thick, dark brown eyebrows in a worried expression. His belly is white and his paws are white and dark brown. He initially wears the Gray Tartan shirt.

Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.

Cranky villagers will usually appear in a grouchy or agitated mood. When talking to the player, cranky villagers tend to become angry if the player disagrees with them or refuses to do a favor. Like all cranky villagers, Frett will be invested in his hobby and will often challenge the player to various competitions. He will easily get along with jock, snooty and other cranky villagers, and occasionally lazy and normal villagers as well. However, he will find it hard to socialize with peppy villagers, as they will seem overstimulated or immature.

In Animal Forest e+ Frett has the same house as Pudge, with the only difference being that he has the Diner Tile flooring and the Stone Wall wallpaper. He owns an assortment of objects: a Folk Guitar, an Apple TV, a Mama Bear, a Round Cactus, an Arwing, a Hamster Cage, a Mountain Bike, a Flip-Top Desk, a Barber's Pole, and a Tall Sputnoid. His Red Boombox plays K.K. Blues.

In New Horizons, his house is sloppy like Benjamin's, and Comrade K.K. plays on his Sloppy stereo.
