If I may be so bold, you're looking as cool as a fair number of cucumbers.
― Hans, New Leaf

Hans (スナイル Sunairu?, Snyle) is a smug gorilla villager in the Animal Crossing series. His initial phrase could be a reference to the 70's through 90's, where saying something was "groovy" meant it was cool or fashionable. He often says German phrases such as "guten tag," possibly referencing Yeti sightings in the Austrian Alps. He has the fitness hobby.

He appears on the cover of K.K. Adventure.

Hans in Welcome amiibo

Hans is a blue gorilla with gray hair. He very much resembles the cryptid, Yeti, also known as the Abominable Snowman. He initially wears the Cyan Argyle top.

Below is a brief description of the smug personality. For more information, click here.

Smug villagers are very polite, kind, and gentleman-like. As a smug villager, Hans will get along easily with other villagers. Smug villagers get along well with most villagers, their personality appearing to be a mix of the other personality types. Smug villagers will stroke their egos from time to time, going on about how cool they are.

Generally, Hans will get along with lazy, normal, snooty and peppy villagers, and may conflict with cranky villagers.

In New Leaf, Hans' house has somewhat of a ski lodge theme to it, which references his origins. He has a Cabin Table, which displays a vintage radio. He also has an Exotic Bench and a fireplace. Hans also has a few drums and some winter sports equipment. His house originally has no stereo, but if he gains one, it will play K.K. D&B. Hans' wallpaper is the Modern Wall, and his flooring is the Kitchen Tile.

In New Horizons, Hans' house retains the "ski resort" theme but instead of being based off a lodge, it is based on the outdoor slopes instead. He has a ski-slope wall and a snowy floor as well as a bonfire, with two half-log benches flanking it. He also has a portable radio and various flora standees.
