“Wha--? I mean, sure thing! You look fabulous just the way you are, sugar!”
― Harriet, City Folk
Harriet (カットリーヌ, Kattorīnu?) is a pink poodle who runs the Shampoodle barber shop. Harriet's name comes from her profession of being a hairstylist. Her name is a pun on the word 'Hair'. Her shop, Shampoodle, is a portmanteau of the words "Shampoo" and "Poodle," referencing the fact that many hair salons will include a shampoo along with a haircut or getting a hair color. She changes the hairstyle of the player depending on the answers of a series of questions. It costs 3,000 Bells per style. She first appears in Wild World, working in a store in Nookington's and again appears in City Folk, with her own store in the city. When you go in Shampoodle in City Folk you can see Gracie magazines on her desk.
Aspects
Harriet looks like a poodle. Her ears are pink looking lopped down on her head. She has a poofy pink hair on her head as her hairstyle. Her skin is a lighter shade of pink. She wears a purple dress with a three-striped apron colored blue, white, and red, like France's flag. Her apron has a big pocket on it, which has her hair cutting scissors sticking out. She also has a turquoise eye shadow.
Personality
Harriet is a cheerful woman who enjoys style. She often has an enabler attitude, always praising people of their style on the outside no matter how bad it looks.
Appearances
In Wild World
In Wild World, she runs the Shampoodle located at the back of Tom Nook's store, when he upgrades it to Nookington's. She will offer the player a haircut, which is styled based on the answers of a series of questions - the answers usually relate to a stereotypical hairstyle by a type of group or genre. The player can only get one haircut per day, costing 3,000 Bells. Harriet will be at The Roost, from 11:00pm – 12:00am, Monday - Friday, but they must have Nookington's in their town.
After the player had all the different hairstyles, Harriet will offer the player a haircut of the opposite gender.
She gives you a wide range of hairstyles. For the entire list of hairstyles and colors, go here.
If the player is not happy with their hairstyle one must save and go back because she will only do the player's hair once a day.
In City Folk
In City Folk, she has her own beauty salon in the city and no longer works in Nookington's. The store remains under the same name of Shampoodle and her character traits are very much unchanged, but she now offers a wider variety of hairstyles. She now offers a Mii Mask, a mask that is styled on a Mii character created on the Wii. The style is free, but only one style can be stored. The Mii-Mask can be changed, but it costs 3,000 Bells. She can only get the player's hair done once a day for 3,000 bells as well. Sometimes, she will ask the player if they have made up their mind on a certain style. If the player answer no, she will style the player hair according to the latest fashion trend. She will ask if the player wants to choose their own color, or let the trend decide. The player style will be randomly generated for the same price as usual.
In New Leaf
In New Leaf, Harriet still runs Shampoodle which is now located in Main Street above the Able Sisters store. Her personality and services remain unchanged. However, she now offers the player the option of changing their eye color with contacts, a new feature in New Leaf.

Trivia
- If a player sits on one of the stools in Shampoodle, Harriet will remark that she is not busy, and that they do not need to wait.
- Harriet is one of the few special characters to have a visible mouth under her snout; other characters usually talk by twitching their noses.
- Harriet's Japanese name is most likely a portmanteau of "cut" (カット katto?), "dog" (いぬ inu?), and Katrina (カトリーナ Katorīna?).
- In New Leaf, Harriet has the voice of a normal villager.
- Her name may also be a reference to Harriet Tubman, who supposedly never combed her hair. However, this may be a stretch.
