- "I caught a house centipede! Make yourself at home - in my net!" —New Leaf
The house centipede (ゲジ, Geji?) is a rock-dwelling bug in New Leaf. Like the normal centipede, they can be driven out by striking rocks with a shovel or axe and produce the same rattling noise when fleeing from the player. They can be quite elusive, but sell for only 250 Bells.
Donation to the museum
As with all bugs in the Animal Crossing series, the House Centipede can be donated to the Museum by talking to Blathers.
In New Leaf
Upon donation to the museum, an information board in the bug exhibit will list information about this bug:
"The house centipede has many remarkably long legs that give it a very intimidating appearance. However, despite this intense look, they are for the most part harmless to humans. When an enemy is holding down one of its legs, the house centipede will drop that leg to make an escape. The dropped leg will continue to flail for a while, though, providing a distraction."
