House customization returns from New Leaf. In New Horizons, it's a service offered by Tom Nook in Resident Services. Although house customization options in New Horizons are not as extensive as those in New Leaf, the process is more streamlined. All options are unlocked and available at once after the player obtains the second floor expansion, any changes only require a flat fee of 5,000 Bells each time(regardless of amount of changes the player makes), and after the player has paid off their final house expansion loan, Tom Nook waives that fee for all subsequent changes.
In the New Horizons 2.0 update, new house exterior designs will be available from Tom Nook in Resident Services.
