The Isabelle Scooter (named City Tripper in the Mario Kart series and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) is a scooter that debuted in Mario Kart 8 downloadable pack Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8. It features as the signature bike for Isabelle, who became playable in the same DLC pack. Isabelle Scooter has made multiple appearances as furniture in both mainline and spin-off Animal Crossing series games since its appearance and returned as a unlockable bike in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

The Isabelle Scooter resembles a classic Vespa and features the recognisable "pop tart" insignia pattern as dubbed by fans. The same pattern can be seen in various promotional material for New Leaf as well as the backs of the first 4 series Animal Crossing amiibo cards. The patterns was also used for a special edition Animal Crossing Nintendo 3DS XL. The wheels and glider are interchangeable with many parts in Mario Kart 8 and Deluxe, but the signature loadout features the 'Leaf Wheels' and 'Paper Glider'. The insignia on the front of the scooter also changes depending on the character using it, however, it remains as Isabelle's apple insignia in the Animal Crossing games it features in, validating their association with each other.

Mario Kart 8/Deluxe[]

The City Tripper, as well as the 'Leaf Tires', 'Paper Glider', and 'Streetle' kart all debuted in Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8. Villager (as two skins) and Isabelle became playable characters in the very same pack as well as the "Crossing Cup" and the racetrack "Animal Crossing". All of these characters, kart pieces and stages returned in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, now as unlockable pieces instead of being DLC add-ons.

New Leaf (Welcome amiibo)[]

NL Winter Isabelle RV

City Tripper appears in the "Welcome amiibo" update for New Leaf, now renamed as "Isabelle Scooter". It now acts as a piece of furniture and is obtainable by scanning an Isabelle amiibo, visiting Isabelle's RV in Harvey's campsite and ordering it from her catalog. The item appears delivered in the players mailbox the next day.

Pocket Camp[]

Isabelle Scooter appears in Pocket Camp as furniture. It is obtainable by buying one of Tommy's fortune cookies for 5000 bells. There is a 2 percent chance it will appear when eating one of these fortune cookies, however, it is not a seasonal fortune cookie, so is always available to be obtainable.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

The City Tripper appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a spirit in the World of Light campaign and is only obtainable from Funky Kong's Shack, and costs 4000 Spirit Points at regular price.

The spirit can be combined with a Mach Rider, Excitebike and a red-type core to summon the Master Cycle spirit, Link's signature bike from Mario Kart 8.
