“Hey, <player>. I feel like we need more dancing happening now. Shoom! OK, that's a little better.”
― Julian, New Leaf
Julian (ジュリー, Jurī?, Julie) is a smug horse villager in the Animal Crossing series, who resembles a unicorn, due to the horn on his head. His name may come from "Julius," of Julius Caesar, who claimed to be related to the Roman goddess Venus, reflecting Julian's astronomy theme. Julian's birthday is also the Ides of March, which was the day Caesar was assassinated. The feminine form of his name in the Japanese version was likely given to emphasize Julian's feminine appearance, though this could also be a reference to Julii, the historical family name of Julius Caesar. He has the music hobby.
Appearance[]
Julian is a turquoise horse with a slightly darker mane and tail, and a white horn which resembles a unicorn's. He has black hooves, wears purple-pink eye-shadow and has long, black eyelashes. His muzzle is colored white, with the white extending along the front/top of his face in a "blaze" marking pattern. His eyes are normally closed, but when he opens them they appear white without a pupil.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the smug personality. For more information, click here. |
Smug villagers are very polite, kind, and gentleman-like. As a smug villager, Julian will get along easily with other villagers. Smug villagers get along well with most villagers, their personality appearing to be a mix of the other personality types. Smug villagers will stroke their egos from time to time, going on about how cool they are.
Generally, Julian will get along with lazy, normal, snooty, and peppy villagers, and may conflict with cranky villagers.
House[]
In New Leaf, Julian owns several pieces from the Regal Series, such as the Regal Bed, Regal Sofa, Regal Bookcase, Regal Vanity and the Regal Table. Other furniture includes the Star Globe, King chess piece and the harp. His flooring is the Blue Floor, and his wall is the Lunar Horizon. He has a Retro Stereo that plays Stale Cupcakes.
In New Horizons, his house is adorned with the Cloud Flooring and Starry-sky wall, Starry garlands and contains all of the furniture in the Zodiac series (craftable from star fragments with Celeste's DIY recipes). The one item he has that is not a part of this series is the Fortune-telling Set. Note: The Sagittarius Arrow and Leo Sculpture are on the walls of Julian's house, but they are not pictured. They are also very difficult to see in-game, as the player has to turn the camera around to see it.
