Be that way, you...meanie! You're no prize pig yourself! I am SO not talking to you anymore, bitty!
― Ketchup, Animal Forest e+

Ketchup (ケチャップ, Kechappu?, Ketchup) is a peppy duck villager in the Animal Crossing series, originally exclusive to Animal Forest e+. She can only move into a village if the player has her E-Reader card. Her name comes from the food, tomato ketchup, due to her tomato-like appearance. She has the play hobby. She appears on the cover of Steep Hill.

Ketchup returned to the series in New Leaf, as part of the Welcome amiibo update. By scanning amiibo cards, this villager can be met via the campground and invited to the town.

Appearance

Ketchup in Animal Forest e+

Ketchup is a red duck with a yellow beak, orange cheeks, and green hair on her forehead that resembles leaves. She is meant to look like a tomato, which connects to her name, Ketchup. She initially wears the Flicker Shirt in Animal Forest e+, and the Rose Sky Tee in New Leaf. She, Frita, Carrot, Merengue, Zucker, Chadder and Tangy are some of the villagers that directly resemble food.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the peppy personality. For more information, click here.

Peppy villagers appear to be in a good mood often and are easy to become friends with. As a peppy villager, Ketchup will have the tendency to over-react in conversations about trivial subjects, and will usually be over-excited to see the player or other villagers. This villager, like other peppy villagers, will rarely be discouraged from doing anything, including the usual hobbies. Peppy villagers dream of becoming famous in the future and read Ms. Nintendique, an unseen magazine read by snooty, normal, and other peppy villagers in the Animal Crossing Series. Peppy villagers will also have a very short attention span, which means they soon forget some arguments or tasks given to the player which weren't completed. Ketchup may easily get upset in conversation when the wrong things are said. She will get along well with other villagers, particularly lazy, normal, jock, sisterly and other peppy villagers, but she may annoy and upset cranky and snooty villagers, whose personalities differ to hers. Due to the nature of peppy villagers, she may mention how "old" or "boring" cranky villagers are compared to her opposing, upbeat personality.

House

In Animal Forest e+, Ketchup's house is similar to Bea's, but she has the Ivy Wall and the Kitchen Flooring as the wallpaper and flooring. She has K.K. Technopop or K.K. Salsa playing on her CD Player with three shirts, which are the Gelato Shirt, the Blossom Shirt, and a Rally Shirt and a mixture of Green and Ranch Furniture such as a Green Lamp and a Ranch Cupboard including a set of the Bear set, the Baby Bear and the Mama Bear.

In New Leaf, Ketchup's house has a backyard pizzeria theme, including the Whole Pizza, Cutting-Board Set, Brick Oven, four stacks of Firewood, Picnic Table, Worktable, and the Sparrow's Nest. She keeps the Ivy Wall from her previous home, and now has a Backyard Lawn for carpeting. If she gain a stereo, it plays Neapolitan.

In New Horizons, Ketchup's house retains the same outdoor eatery theme it had in New Leaf, and has similar furniture. In the top left corner of her house sits an Outdoor table with a Picnic basket and Handy water cooler on top of it, to the right of it is a Smoker and some Firewood, and her Brick oven is in the top right corner. The center of the room contains a Red vinyl sheet, Log round table, Soup kettle, and a Director's chair. In the lower left sits her Cute music player and Inflatable sofa, and the lower right corner of the house is occupied by a Garden faucet. She once again keeps her Ivy Wall and Backyard Lawn flooring.

Pocket Camp

Ketchup's preferred theme is cute. Her profile says:

Ketchup considers herself to be the poster child for maturity. One mention of a food fight, however, and she's completely off the leash.
