“Hey! Sneak up on me again, and I'm gonna hit you with this shovel!”
― Knox, City Folk
Knox (キンカク,Kinkaku?) is a crankychickenvillager in the Animal Crossing series whose first appearance was in City Folk. He wears a knight's helmet, which may link him to Sterling who wears a silver helmet. His name may be a play on Fort Knox, which also links to his gold-colored helmet, while "kin" in his Japanese name means "gold". His catchphrase, "cluckling", is the same as Betty's. He has the education hobby.
Knox is a gray chicken dressed as a knight from medieval times. He initially wears a Cavalier T-shirt and his helmet and greaves are gold. He is also one of the few villagers to wear headgear and shoes. His appearance is similar to Sterling, the jockeagle villager.
Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.
Cranky villagers will usually appear in a grouchy or agitated mood and are more difficult to befriend than most other villager types. When talking to the player, cranky villagers tend to become angry if the player disagrees with them or refuses to do a favor. Like all cranky villagers, Knox will be invested in his hobby and will often challenge the player to various competitions. He will easily get along with jock, snooty and other cranky villagers, and occasionally lazy and normal villagers as well. However, he will find it hard to socialize with peppy villagers, as they will seem overstimulated or immature. Knox will also enjoy spreading rumors about other villagers.
In City Folk, Knox has a medieval-themed room, having a covered wagon, birdcage, firepit, bookshelf, and a cannon. He uses the basement wall as wallpaper and the charcoal tile as flooring. If he has a stereo in his house, it will play K.K. Aria.
In New Leaf, Knox's house is similar to his City Folk house; with the exception of having a plate armor, broken post, and a few water troughs in the back of his home.
In New Horizons, Knox's house has items from the Golden series and Zodiac set, including 4 golden caskets with golden candlesticks, an Aquarius urn, and a Cancer table with a phonograph that plays K.K. Aria. In the middle of his house, there's a red carpet leading to an upright piano. He uses the palace wall and palace tile for wallpaper and flooring respectively.
