Limberg (らっきょ,Rakkyo?) is a crankymousevillager in the Animal Crossing series. His name is a shortening of Limburger cheese, a type of cheese with a strong odor, which may reflect his appearance - rough and unshaven, although his name is spelled "berg", which means mountain, while the cheese is spelled "burg", which means castle. His Japanese name, "Rakkyo", refers to a Chinese onion, which also relates to strong odors. His picture quote, "Something stinks!," might also be a reference to this. His catchphrase, squinky, is a combination of the noise a mouse makes, squeak, and the word stinky.
Limberg is an orange mouse, with pink bcheeks and a gray 5 o'clock shadow. He has black dot-eyes and strong eyebrows. The insides of his ears are light blue. He has a black, diamond shaped nose and an orange tail with darker orange stripes on it. The way his eyes are squinted downwards hint at his cranky personality.
Personality
Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.
Cranky villagers will usually appear in a grouchy or agitated mood and are more difficult to befriend than most other villager types. When talking to the player, cranky villagers tend to become angry if the player disagrees with them or refuses to do a favor. Like all cranky villagers, Limberg will be invested in his hobby and will often challenge the player to various competitions. He will easily get along with jock, snooty and other cranky villagers, and occasionally lazy and normal villagers as well. However, he will find it hard to socialize with peppy villagers, as they will seem overstimulated or immature. Limberg will also enjoy spreading rumors about other villagers.
House
Limberg's house is Japanese-themed, with items such as the Japanese Drum and the Exotic Screen. Limberg has the bamboo flooring and the stone wall as his choice of carpeting and wallpaper. His reel-to-reel plays K.K. Folk, which fits the Japanese theme of his house.
Limberg is under the impression that everyone besides himself is on the stupid side. He considers himself quite the humanitarian, displaying infinite patience with what he calls "the great unwashed idiots."
