Animal Crossing Wiki

The Lunar New Year is an event present in the South Korean version of City Folk and New Leaf, as well as in all versions of New Horizons. It coincides with the current year's date for the Chinese New Year. Villagers will have special dialogue related to the celebration while it is active.

In City Folk and New Leaf

In City Folk and New Leaf, from 6AM to midnight, Tortimer or Isabelle will be present in the Plaza. Upon talking to them, the player will receive a Yuk.

In New Horizons

In New Horizons, at the start of the day, Isabelle will deliver a special message, wishing the islanders good fortune. The day before the event, the player will receive a letter from Mom, containing an item from the Mom Series.
