Maelle is a yellow duck with a dark orange beak and feet with orange on the tips of her feathers and stomach. Her hair is styled in reddish-brown bob. She wears lime green eyeshadow and her eyes maintain a lazy expression. As an islander, Maelle wore a white and orange flower in her hair. In Animal Crossing, she wears a Red Aloha Shirt, like other female islanders. In all subsequent games, she wears a Heart Tee. When it rains, Maelle uses the Yellow Umbrella.
Below is a brief description of the snooty personality. For more information, click here.
Maelle has a snooty personality, which means she loves make-up and gossiping. As a snooty villager, Maelle will first appear rude and arrogant towards the player, often talking about herself and her own experiences. She also speaks about the style and appearance of other villagers, usually other female villagers such as normal, peppy, and other snooty villagers. She will soon warm up to the player, confiding in them about their own feelings but still keeping subtly rude. Maelle will not get along with lazy villagers due to them not caring about their appearance or the lazy villagers hating what she eats, and she won't get along with jockvillagers because they will question her on her physical appearance and they won't worry about fashion. However, she will get along with cranky villagers due to their similar rude personalities, and usually normal villagers as well.
Maelle's home in Wild World and City Folk has a very girly appearance, featuring two Lovely items, the bed and the kitchen. She also owns a birdcage, a cream sofa, and a Classic Buffet. Maelle also displays a Candy Gingham Shirt and a Lacy Parasol in her house, referencing her snooty personality, as they enjoy fashion. Café K.K. plays on her Phonograph, and her choices of wallpaper and flooring are the Parlor Wall and the Ceramic Tile respectively.
In New Leaf, Maelle's house has a humble Japanese style to it. She owns many Alpine pieces, such as the bed, the dresser, the large table, and the low table. In addition, she has a small kitchen corner, with a sink and a range, as well as a Retro Fridge. Maelle also displays a space heater and a drip pail in her home. She still plays Café K.K., but this time she does so on a Record Player. Her wallpaper is the Kitschy Wall, and her flooring is the Tatami.
Maelle is one of those rare birds who can do no wrong. No matter how bossy she may seem, you can't help but forgive her. It must be the way she wears that flower in her hair - you can't help but adore it.
As an Islander in Animal Crossing, she has a favorite fruit and a fruit that she is allergic to. Feeding Maelle her favorite fruit will increase the chance of her dropping money bags, while feeding her allergy fruit will reduce the likelihood of her dropping money bags. Maelle loves Apples and is allergic to Oranges.
On the back of the Animal Crossing box, Maelle is featured right next to the "Get Connected!" section of the text, to the left.
She is one of the few villagers in any of the Animal Crossing games to ever be featured on a box of the game.
