I think I'm the only sane one in this town.
― Picture quote, Wild World

Marina (タコリーナ Takorīna?) is a normal octopus villager whose debut appearance was in Animal Forest e+ as an islander. She later reappeared in every main-series game since Wild World as a villager. Her name is one of Latin origin, meaning "from the sea." It may have also been from the word marine, a general term for things relating to the sea or ocean. Her initial catchphrase is a common onomatopoeia for the sound an octopus makes when spitting out ink.

She is featured on the cover of K.K. Rally, and she has the music hobby.

Appearance[]

Marina AFe+

Marina in Animal Forest e+

Marina is a strawberry pink octopus with eight tentacles for arms and legs. She has a "jet", relocated to mimic a mouth, and black eyes with a single eyelash on each. Her cheeks are light yellow and she has a quiff of hair above her eyes. On the back of her head, there is a small, hot pink bow, which is a slightly different shade of her head. In Animal Forest e+, Marina wears the Red Aloha Shirt, and from Wild World through Happy Home Designer, she initially wears the Bubblegum shirt. In New Horizons, she initially wears the Dreamy Sweater.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the normal personality. For more information, click here.

Marina has a normal personality, and frequently acts kind towards the player. Normal villagers generally get along well with lazy, peppy, smug, snooty, and other normal villagers. Marina may conflict with cranky and sisterly villagers. As a normal villager, Marina will usually wake up at 6:00 am and is easier to befriend than most. Both normal and peppy villagers reference an unseen friend known as Moppina.

House[]

In New Leaf, Marina's house consists of many items from the Lovely Series, such as the bed, the love seat, the dresser, the wall clock, the vanity, the chair, the end table, and the lamp. She also has the matching Lovely Wall and Lovely Floor. Other items include a claw-foot tub, a toilet, a sunflower, and a turntable, which plays Soulful K.K.

In New Horizons, Marina's previous house layout is almost directly recreated. Her pink Tankless toilet and Claw-foot tub are in the exact same positions as they were previously. She has many items from the Cute series in white, including the bed, sofa, vanity, tea table, music player, floor lamp, and DIY table. She uses the Strawberry-chocolate wall and Berry-chocolates flooring. She still plays Soulful K.K. in her house.

Marina was added to Pocket Camp in the April 18, 2019 update.

Marina's preferred theme is cute, and she primarily gives paper as a reward. Her profile reads:

❝ Like the rubbery texture of her skin, Marina is polite yet firm. But mainly polite. Wait-can skin be polite? We're sorry. This metaphor got away from us.❞
