I've been informed that Nintendo UK are interested in providing content to the wiki community, regarding news/updates for Animal Crossing, likely in the form of weekly videos. Do you think it would be possible to feature such videos at the top of the main page?
The UK team also intends to become a lot more active on Twitter, so having the feed placed higher up on the main page would also be ideal, with it featuring more frequently updated news.
Do you think this is something that the community would be open to?
Hi, thanks for the message. Once the videos are uploaded, I (or any admin) can add them to the homepage slider. Regarding Twitter, I don't know that our template for it overrides importance of game/wiki news, chat links, and the poll. If you're persistent on seeing the feed higher up on the main page, you can go through a formal proposal.
Ok, thanks. I'll make the proposal regarding the Twitter feed(s).
It may also be worth mentioning the right column issues we previously discussed, to avoid content overflowing on the side too much (perhaps by defining/shortening some of the template heights). I'll add this to the proposal, seeing as it's related.

Not much detail at the moment, but I can feed back that the wiki would be willing to use the videos in the main page slider, and I can relay back any new information they provide in the meantime.
HOA, regarding the right column, my main concern was more new visitors to the wiki, not necessarily the experienced users. Just to illustrate:
Some slight improvement/reorganization would just make it appear nicer for everyone who visits the wiki. I will think more on this, and try and propose something that wouldn't drastically alter the current setup, but I'll always check with you guys first before making any changes here.
The main page Twitter feed proposal has now been made here.
I keep having problems with some people who are so adamant that the villagers who debuted in New Horizons actually debuted in Pocket Camp instead. Here's why this is an utterly ridiculous claim:
1. Pocket Camp was released in 2017. The first true actual news about New Horizons was in June of 2019, and we started seeing villagers later that year. Surely if they "debuted" in Pocket Camp we would have seen them earlier than that. In November of 2017 the team that produced NH was still working on Splatoon 2 updates, specifically Octo Expansion.
2. The only reason this is even a debatable issue is because the update for Pocket Camp that featured these villagers just so happened to land on the same release date as New Horizons. If it had been even a week after the game's release, I guarantee you there would be near-unanimous support for the fact that these debuted in NH.
Well PC was before NH anyway, so why is it wrong to say they were added in Pocket Camp. It just makes more sense. To me, anyhow.
Or maybe it could say it was added to PC and NH at the same time...? Or something? I was the person who kept making it say PC because I wasn't aware it was added at the same time. I'm sorry about that. I agree, that sounds arrogant
I made it so that if you use Template:Home-News-Item on the main page, you can schedule news events by putting in a date in the future. They won't display until that date. Not sure how well it'll work with timezones but oh well.
I've scheduled in the events from the 1.2 update trailer, as well as the anniversary notice in August.
Robyn just made this ingenious idea about making bumper stickers for the AC wiki and the caption would be, "'My other admin is HOAFanguying!'". To which I was ecstatic about and so made a car salesman meme about it. Enjoy!
