Monty (サルモンティ, Sarumonthi^?) is a cranky monkey villager from the Animal Crossing series. He has appeared in every Animal Crossing game since Wild World. He has the education hobby.

Appearance

Monty in City Folk

Monty is a white monkey with a grey face. He has lazy yellow eyes and the insides of his ears are orange. The tips of his limbs and tail are the same color as his face. He has small pink blushes on his cheeks and is smiling in his resting facial position. He initially wears the Blue Bar Tee. His expression makes him look like a lazy villager. When it rains, he will carry a Camo Umbrella.

Personality

Cranky villagers will usually appear in a grouchy or agitated mood. When talking to the player, cranky villagers tend to become angry if the player disagrees with them or refuses to do a favor. Like all cranky villagers, Monty will be invested in his hobby and will often challenge the player to various competitions. He will easily get along with jock, snooty, and other cranky villagers, and occasionally lazy and normal villagers as well. However, he will find it hard to socialize with peppy villagers, as they will seem overstimulated or immature.

House

In Wild World and City Folk, Monty's home is much like a meadow. He has an outdoor bath, a mountain bike, and a Tape Deck that plays the song Pondering. He also has some camping equipment, being a lantern and a backpack. His wallpaper is the Meadow Vista, and his flooring is the Daisy Meadow.

In New Leaf, Monty's house has acquired more of a camping theme, still having a similar feel to his previous abodes. He still has an outdoor bath and a mountain bike. He also now owns more camping gear, such as a campfire, a propane stove and a sleeping bag. In the top-left corner he displays a CD Player, which plays Pondering. His wallpaper is still the Meadow Vista, but his flooring has changed to the sandlot.

In New Horizons, his room is initially autumn-themed. Many of Monty's furniture is based upon mushrooms.

Pocket Camp

Monty was added to Pocket Camp in the June 8, 2023 update.

Monty's preferred theme is rustic, and he primarily gives steel as a reward. His profile reads:
