“... You're asking me why the sun won't set today?”Phil (ケイン, Kein?) is a smug ostrich villager who made his first appearance in New Leaf. His Japanese name comes from the word cane, a long skinny pole, in reference to his neck. His initial phrase may be a reference to a bird's call. He is on the cover of K.K. Jongara.
― Phil, New Leaf
AppearancePhil is a predominately purple ostrich with a red mask. His wings and tail are brown and golden striped feathers. His beak is white in color and his legs are white and golden striped. His overall appearance seems to have some connection to a male pheasant, due to his brightly colored head and brown body. Phil initially wears a Dawn Tee.
|Below is a brief description of the smug personality. For more information, click here.|
Phil's house is very modernly themed and is somewhat feminine, with four pieces from the Minimalist Series, the table with the tea set on top, the minimalist table with a porcelain model, the dresser with the porcelain tea pot, and the vanity. He has Steep Hill playing on his High-End stereo and a house plant. He has the Kitschy Wallpaper and the Round Carpet as his choice of wallpaper and flooring.
- Phil bears a slight resemblance to Falco Lombardi from the Star Fox Series. This may be further evidenced by his home request in Happy Home Designer.
