“What's gotten into you?! Who raised you to act like that, chicky-poo?!”
― Plucky, New Horizons
Plucky (パタヤ,Pataya?) is a sisterlychicken villager from the Animal Crossing series, originally exclusive to the later GCN games, in which she had the peppy personality. When she returned in New Leaf, she changed into a sisterlyvillager. Her name comes from the word "pluck," the way humans pick chicken feathers. She has the play hobby.
Plucky returned to the series in New Leaf, as part of the Welcome amiibo update. By scanning amiibo cards, this villager can be met via the campground and invited to the town. Unlike previous iterations, she is now a regular villager and not an islander.
Plucky is a brown chicken with an orange beak and feet. The top of her head is baby blue. She also has white eyelashes. During her time as an islander, she wore the Red Aloha Shirt. In New Leaf, however, she sports a Cool Tank instead. In New Horizons she wears a tropical tee.
Personality
Plucky's personality changes from a peppy islander in Animal Crossing to a sisterly villager in New Leaf.
Below is a brief description of the peppy personality. For more information, click here.
Peppy villagers appear to be in a good mood often and are easy to become friends with. As a peppy villager, Plucky will have the tendency to over-react in conversations about trivial subjects, and will usually be over-excited to see the player or other villagers. This villager, like other peppy villagers, will rarely be discouraged from doing anything, including the usual hobbies. Peppy villagers dream of becoming famous in the future and read Ms. Nintendique, an unseen magazine read by snooty, normal, and other peppy villagers in the Animal Crossing Series. Peppy villagers will also have a very short attention span, which means they soon forget some arguments or tasks given to the player which weren't completed. Plucky may easily get upset in conversation when the wrong things are said. She will get along well with other villagers, particularly lazy, normal, jock, sisterly and other peppy villagers, but she may annoy and upset cranky and snooty villagers, whose personalities differ to hers. Due to the nature of peppy villagers, she may mention how "old" or "boring" cranky villagers are compared to her opposing, upbeat personality.
Below is a brief description of the sisterly personality. For more information, click here.
Plucky is a sisterly villager. When befriended, she will give the player fighting tips and teach them ways to relax. Plucky will also give the player medicine if they are stung by a bee. Like all sisterly villagers, Plucky is tough, but she will still care deeply about her appearance. Plucky has a tendency to stay up very late at night. It is easy to get her picture since developing friendships with sisterly villagers is simple due to her caring and protective nature.
Plucky will treat the player with respect and will even offer to fight off anyone giving the player trouble. Plucky may get along with jock villagers who share her love of sports, lazy villagers for how laid-back they are, and peppy villagers. However, she may conflict with snooty and cranky villagers, who spread rumors about others, and she may have trouble getting along with normal villagers.
House
In the Gamecube games, the initial layout of her home only contains the Red Aloha Shirt and the Blue Aloha Shirt, the same as other islanders.
In New Leaf, Plucky's house has many of the same special new items that come with her Amiibo card and show up in her RV, including a Shower, Towel basket, Watermelon, Coconut juice, Sand castle, and two beach chairs. She has the Tropical vista wallpaper and Sandy beach floor, and K.K. Island will play if she obtains a stereo.
In New Horizons, Plucky's house again has a beach theme. Every color variation of the Surfboard item lines her back wall, and in front of them is a Stall with a berry Frozen-treat set on top, next to a blue Menu chalkboard. She also has a blue Casette player and lawn chair, and a Rattan end table with a second soda Frozen-treat set sitting on top. She uses an oak Ironwood DIY workbench for crafting and once again has the Tropical vista as wallpaper and Sandy-beach flooring.
Plucky is the kind of chicken who KNOWS she's always right. That's why she never listens to anything anyone tells her. After all, there's no point in listening to someone you know is totally WRONG.
As an islander, she has a favorite fruit and a fruit that she is allergic to. Feeding her the allergy fruit will reduce the likelihood of her dropping money bags. Plucky is allergic to cherries, but loves apples.
