Poppy (グミ, Gumi^?, Gummy) is a normal squirrel villager in the Animal Crossing series, appearing in City Folk, New Leaf, and New Horizons Her name is either a reference to the poppy, a red flower, or poppy seeds, which squirrels like to eat. Her catchphrase is a reference to one of the things squirrels eat: nuts. She has the education hobby.

Appearance

Poppy is a dusky red squirrel with a cream muzzle, tail stripe, and tipped paws. The inside of her ears and paw pads on her feet are turquoise blue and her nose is orange. She has solid black eyes in a "pie eyed" shape and a small mouth. She initially wears the Rally Tee in City Folk and New Leaf, and a green Alpinist Dress in New Horizons.

Poppy has a normal personality, and frequently acts kind towards the player. Normal villagers generally get along well with lazy, peppy, smug, snooty, and other normal villagers. Poppy may conflict with cranky and sisterly villagers. As a normal villager, Poppy will usually wake up at 6:00 am and is easier to befriend than most. Both normal and peppy villagers reference an unseen friend known as Moppina.

House

Poppy's house seems to have a relaxed and calm mood, with a variety of the Classic Series, like the Classic Desk, the Classic Bed, and the Classic Buffet. There are also other various items, such as an Exotic Lamp and a Regal Armoire. Her Retro Stereo plays K.K. Lullaby. She has the Mod Wall as her wallpaper, and the Plush Carpet as her flooring.

In New Horizons, Poppy's house takes on an autumn forest theme, while maintaining the calm atmosphere. Her wallpaper and flooring are the Autumn Wall and Colored-Leaves Flooring, respectively. She owns many pieces of the Log Set, as well as DIY recipe items, such as a Tree's Bounty Arch, a Tiny Library, a Bucket, and a Campfire. Her Portable Record Player initially plays Forest Life.
