Hey, <player name>. Wait. Don't talk to me. Not til I've had my coffee.
― Rilla, Pocket Camp

Rilla (リラ Rira?, Rilla) is a peppy gorilla villager who appears in New Leaf with the December 2, 2016 update. She lives in a mobile home, and can be asked to move into your town. Her amiibo card is part of the Sanrio Amiibo card pack. Her name Rilla, is the last five letters of her species, which is Gorilla.

Along with Cece, Chai, Chelsea, Epona, Étoile, Felyne, Ganon, Inkwell, Marty, Medli, Toby, Viché, and Wolf Link, Rilla is unable to be adopted while moving out of a town.

Rilla returned to New Horizons, as part of the Version 1.9.0 update on March 18th, 2021. By scanning amiibo cards, this villager can be met via the campsite and invited to the town.

She has the nature hobby[1].

Appearance[]

Rilla in New Leaf

Rilla's appearance is based off Hello Kitty[2], Sanrio's mascot. She has light pink skin and white fur. Her eyes are blue and shiny with a few eyelashes. Her hair is blonde and she wears a red bow, further referencing Hello Kitty. She also appears to wear blue stud earrings. Her default top is a blue Hello Kitty outfit. In New Horizons, her lips are less prominent.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the peppy personality. For more information, click here.

Peppy villagers appear to be in a good mood often and are easy to become friends with. As a peppy villager, Rilla will have the tendency to over-react in conversations about trivial subjects, and will usually be over-excited to see the player or other villagers. This villager, like other peppy villagers, will rarely be discouraged from doing anything, including the usual hobbies. Peppy villagers dream of becoming famous in the future and read Ms. Nintendique, an unseen magazine read by snooty, normal, and other peppy villagers in the Animal Crossing series. Peppy villagers will also have a very short attention span, which means they soon forget some arguments or tasks given to the player which weren't completed. Rilla may easily get upset in conversation when the wrong things are said. She will get along well with other villagers, particularly lazy, normal, jock, sisterly, and other peppy villagers, but she may annoy and upset cranky and snooty villagers, whose personalities differ to hers. Due to the nature of peppy villagers, she may mention how "old" or "boring" cranky villagers are compared to her opposing, upbeat personality.

Rilla was added to Pocket Camp in the July 11, 2019 update.

Rilla's preferred theme is hip, and she primarily gives steel as a reward. Her profile reads:

❝ No matter where her travels take her, Rilla always packs her favorite Hello Kitty shirt. She's had it since she was a little girl. Can you tell?❞

Campsite Invitation Requirements[]

Rilla arrived in Pocket Camp through the Sanrio Character Event, Collection #1, alongside her fellow peppy, Chai. In order to get Rilla's map the player has to complete the Sanrio Collection #1 Goals.

Initially, Rilla was a part of the six Sanrio villagers and was only available between July 11th and September 2nd, 2019. However, she was also available from March 26th to May 10th, 2021 as treasure trekker and could be obtained by using Gulliver's Cargo Ship.
