Animal Crossing Wiki

The River mouth is one of the six bodies of water in Animal Crossing, the others being the ocean, the pond, the lake, the river and the waterfall. Although a "river mouth" describes the end of a river flowing into an open body of water (which is found in all Animal Crossing games), it only appears as a location where fish can be found in New Horizons. The exact area of a River mouth is outlined by the color change and waves of the sea on one side and the rippling waves of river water on the other.

In New Horizons[]

In New Horizons, three fish are exclusive to the river mouth: the salmon, the king salmon, and the sturgeon.

The river mouth can not be modified using the Island Designer app and is set in stone once chosen in the beginning of the game.
