― Picture quote, Wild World
Rod (ジャン, Jan?, Jean) is a jock mouse villager in the Animal Crossing series. His name comes from "rodent", a category in which mice fall. His initial phrase, "ace," means "to succeed easily" and "highest quality," which will relate to a jock villagers competitive spirit. Like Nan and Walker, he was originally in the Japan-only Animal Forest e+, and returned in Wild World and City Folk. He appears on the album cover for K.K. Parade.

Rod is a purple mouse with two white whiskers on the sides of his cheeks along with a black nose, smile, and two eyes which are white that have dark brown pupils that shut when he is smiling. He has a tuft of blond hair that is covered by a blue and white striped bandanna on his head. The inside of his ears are a bubblegum pink. He initially wears the Zipper Shirt when he first moves into town.

Below is a brief description of the jock personality. For more information, click here.
Rod has a jock personality and has a great interest in sports and bodybuilding. Jock villagers are hyperactive and motivated but often come across as egotistical and dense. As a jock villager, Rod is very interested in his hobby, and may compete against the player at catching bugs and fish. Jock villagers get along with peppy, cranky and uchi villagers, but conflict with the laid-back lifestyle of lazy villagers. Snooty villagers may also be difficult to get along with for Rod.

In Animal Forest e+, Rod has the same furniture styling as Ricky's house, only that he has the Palace Tile and the Wood Paneling as the carpet and wallpaper.

In Wild World and City Folk, Rod still has some of the pieces from the Ranch Series that he had from Animal Forest e+, including the Ranch Couch and two Ranch Chairs. Other pieces include the Green Counter. He has changed the carpet to the Old Flooring, and on the walls he has the Sea View. He has a Turntable that has K.K. March playing on it.
