Sasha (ミッチェル Miccheru?, Mitchell) is a lazy rabbit villager introduced in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update. He is the first and currently the only male villager to have the fashion hobby.

Appearance

Sasha is a light seafoam green rabbit. His muzzle, paws, and eartips are white with a gradient. His nose and the insides of his ears are a light orange color, and his tail is a somewhat similar yellow. He also has a tuft of blonde bangs across his forehead, and he has simple, dark blue, icon-like eyes with small eyelashes. His default outfit is the blue Letter Jacket.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the lazy personality. For more information, click here.

As a lazy villager, Sasha will be friendly and easy to get along with due to his laid back lifestyle. Like all lazy villagers, he has a love of food and relaxing. He will enjoy partaking in the usual hobbies, usually for relaxing reasons or for food, like when fishing. Sasha will get along well with other villagers, but may offend or confuse jock villagers, who have a lifestyle of exercise and fitness, which conflicts with the lazy lifestyle of relaxing and food. He will get along with other lazy villagers with whom he will talk about food, comics, or superheroes. He will also get along well with normal, peppy, smug and sisterly villagers, and occasionally cranky villagers, but may from time to time annoy snooty villagers, who disagree with the lazy lifestyle.

Trivia

  • Sasha shares his birthday with Olaf, as they both have birthdays on May 19th.
  • He is the first male villager to both have the fashion hobby (New Horizons) and the cute prefered theme (Pocket Camp) respectively.
  • Different meanings can be found in Sasha's international names:
    • His English, Italian, and Dutch name, Sasha, comes from Eastern and Southern Europe and has many variants. As a shortened version of both Alexander and Alexandra, the Greco-Slavic name is unisex and means "defender" or "helper of mankind".
    • His Japanese, Korean, and Chinese names, (JPN: ミッチェル (Miccheru?); KOR: (미첼 Michel); CHN: (蜜雪兒 Mìxuěér)) are transliterations of the masculine Mitchell or feminine Michelle; both are variants of the Biblical Hebrew name Michael (מי כאל‎ "Who is like God?")
      • The first half of his Korean name, 미 mi (hanja: 美), can be used to mean either "beautiful" or as a short hand for 미국 Miguk (hanja: 美國) "United States of America".
      • The Han characters of his Chinese name also have individual meanings
        • can mean either "honey, honey-colored", "honeybee", "sweet", or "female friend (of female)"
        • xuě can mean "snow", "to contain ice", or "to wipe away". It is also short for 雪蘭莪/雪兰莪 (Xuělán'é "Selangor", the twelfth state of Malaysia.)
        • ér means "child" or "adolescent" (usually male).
    • His French name, Alix, is a French spelling of Alex, both of which (like Sasha) are unisex shortenings of both Alexander and Alexandra.
    • His Spanish name, Ariel, is a Biblical name that derives from Hebrew (masc. אריאל Ariel, fem. אריאלה Ariella, both literally meaning "lion of God"). While Ariel is a primarily masculine name in religous scripture and modern Hebrew, both the masculine and feminine spellings are generally considered female names in English-speaking countries.
    • His German and Russian name, Gerrit (RUS: Геррит), is the Dutch and Frisian form of Gerard, and means "spear-hardy", "brave with the spear".
  • Many Animal Crossing fans thought Sasha would be female due to his feminine facial features and his localized name generally being associated with being a female name, even though Sasha is a unisex name and is a common male given name in Russia. He shares this trait with Dom.
