Shep (ボブ, Bobu?, Bob) is a smug dog villager who first appeared in New Leaf. His name comes from the Sheepdog breed of dog, or the fact that Shepherds sometimes use said dogs to round sheep. His catchphrase, 'baaa man', possibly references the name of the breed of dog he is based on, a Sheepdog. The beginning of the word is another animal's name, a sheep, which makes the sound 'baaa'.
Shep is a dark brown dog with lighter brown hair covering his eyes. His ears are tinted with an even darker brown on the rest of his body. Shep's arms are tipped lighter, and so are his feet. Shep, overall, looks like a sheepdog, the breed of dog he is based off. His nose area is yellow. He carries the Camo Umbrella with him on rainy days.

Shep's house is very simple and smooth, with random items, including a canoe, a refrigerator, a simple love seat. He owns two pieces of the Cabana series: the table and the screen. He has K.K. Reggae playing on his record player.

- Because his eyes are hidden by his hair, his expression never changes with his emotions. The only difference is his right eye is visible when he gives the surprised expression.
