Silver Tools are upgraded versions of the regular Tools found in the Animal Crossing series, all of which have a silver metallic look with turquoise details. Silver Tools first appeared in City Folk, and then reappeared in New Leaf. In City Folk, many of the tools may be purchased in the store, while the others must be earned. In New Leaf, most of the tools are sold in the Museum store.
City Folk[]
Silver Slingshot[]
The Silver Slingshot is an upgraded version of the regular slingshot. It can be purchased from Tom Nook's shop for 500 bells. The Silver Slingshot fires two pellets at once in a "V" pattern, making it easier to shoot down balloons.
Silver Fishing Rod[]
The silver fishing rod is an upgraded version of the regular fishing rod. It can be purchased from Tom Nook's shop for 500 bells. The silver fishing rod has a higher catch radius, sending the lure farther into the water and keeping fish on the hook longer.
Silver Net[]
The silver net is an upgraded version of the regular net. It can be purchased from Tom Nook's shop for 500 bells. The silver net has a higher catch radius, catching bugs further away from the player than the regular net.
Silver Watering Can[]
The silver Watering Can is an upgraded version of the regular watering can. It's obtained from a letter sent by the Posy Farm, who may be the florists that supply Tom Nook's shop with seeds after purchasing 50 flower seeds. After purchasing the 50th pack of seeds, the farm sends a letter with the Silver Watering Can attached as thanks for their patronage. The Silver Watering Can can be used to restore wilted Red Turnips to their original just-planted state.
Silver Shovel[]
The silver shovel is an upgraded version of the regular shovel. The silver shovel is obtained from Resetti in the City on a random day after 8 p.m. Rarely, the traffic cones to the right of the city will be moved aside, and the player will be able to enter Resetti's Headquarters, from where he travels to the towns of other players who haven't saved their games before quitting. If the Player talks to Resetti, he will hand the Player a Silver Shovel in order to persuade them to leave. The Silver Shovel is used to potentially double the money gained from hitting a Money Rock.
Silver Axe[]
The silver axe is an upgraded version of the regular axe. It can be obtained from Serena by throwing a regular axe into the town's fountain. Depending on how the player answers her questions, she may give the player a Golden Axe, a Silver Axe, a regular axe, or no axe at all. The player may try once per day. Like the Gold Axe, the Silver Axe will not break.
New Leaf[]
Silver Net[]
The silver Net can be purchased from the Museum shop for 500 bells after a minimum of 30 bugs has been donated to the Museum. Like in City Folk, the Silver Net has a wider catch radius than the regular net.
Silver Fishing Rod[]
The silver fishing rod can be purchased from the Museum shop for 500 bells after a minimum of 30 fish have been donated to the Museum. Like in City Folk, the silver fishing rod has a higher cast radius, sending the lure farther into the water and keeping fish on the hook longer than the regular fishing rod.
Silver Shovel[]
The silver shovel can be purchased from the Museum shop for 500 bells after a minimum of 15 fossils has been donated to the Museum. In New Leaf, the silver shovel has a chance to produce ore from a Money Rock instead of Bells.
Silver Axe[]
On rare occasions, the island gift shop will stock a silver axe with a sale price of 8-9 medals. This axe has a guaranteed chance of producing rare tree stump designs when cutting down trees. Instead of breaking after 32 uses like the regular axe, the silver axe has higher durability and will break after 136 uses (not like the silver axe in City Folk, which never breaks).
Silver Watering Can[]
The silver Watering Can is obtained from Leif's gardening store after purchasing 50 packets of flower seeds. The silver watering can water up to 5 flowers at one time.
Silver Slingshot[]
After the player has shot down at least 16 balloons with a slingshot, a silver toolbox carried by two silver balloons will occasionally drift through the town. Shooting it down yields the Silver Slingshot which fires two pellets simultaneously in a "V" pattern.
