Soleil (シャンティ,Shanti?) is a snootyhamster villager in New Leaf. Her name is French for 'sun', while her Japanese name is the Hindi word for 'peaceful'. She has the education hobby.
Soleil is an orange hamster with a tuft of blond hair on top of her head. Her eyes are big and green. The insides of her ears are yellow, and so are her cheeks. She appears to wear gloves. She initially wears the Swell Tee, and carries the Petal Parasol as her umbrella. She resembles a Japanese Gyaru, having orange skin and bleached hair on her design.
Below is a brief description of the snooty personality. For more information, click here.
Soleil has a snooty personality, which means she loves make-up and gossiping. As a snooty villager, Soleil will first appear rude and arrogant towards the player, often talking about herself and her own experiences. She also speaks about the style and appearance of other villagers, usually other female villagers such as normal, peppy, and other snooty villagers. She will soon warm up to the player, confiding in them about their own feelings but still keeping subtly rude. Soleil will not get along with lazy villagers due to them not caring about their appearance or the lazy villagers hating what she eats, and she won't get along with jockvillagers because they will question her on her physical appearance and they won't worry about fashion. However, she will get along with cranky villagers due to their similar rude personalities, and usually normal villagers as well.
Soleil's house is very posh and high-end. She has several items from the Exotic Series, as well as a Cabana Screen. She also has a Whirlpool Bath, which she herself considers posh. She has a shower right next to her Whirlpool Bath, and a Record Player that plays K.K. Oasis. Soleil has the Persian Wallpaper and the Persian Rug as her choice of wallpaper and flooring.
In New Horizons, Soleil's house is asian-themed with items from the zen series.
Soleil is heavily implied to be from India. For starters, her Japanese name is the Hindi word for 'peaceful', the native language of India. Additionally, in New Horizons, she wears a Sari as her starting outfit. However, the name was changed when Animal Crossing was translated and lost its connection to the Hindi language.
