After Animal Forest e+, she was absent until New Leaf, where she reappeared as a Sisterly villager. She has appeared in every game since.
Her catchphrase in New Leaf comes from the joey that kangaroos carry in their pouches, while the one in New Horizons comes from the jumping ability that kangaroos possess.
Sylvia is a purple kangaroo. She has a black nose, half-closed eyes with black pupils, and small pink circles of blush on her cheeks. She has orange hair that partially obscures her eyes. Her paws and feet are white, and the insides of her ears are blue. She initially wears the Yellow Aloha Tee, and carries the Flame Umbrella on rainy days. Like all female kangaroo villagers, she carries a joey in her pouch that is identical to her.
Personality
Sylvia personality changes from a snooty islander in Animal Forest e+ to a sisterly villager in New Leaf.
Below is a brief description of the snooty personality. For more information, click here.
Sylvia has a snooty personality, which means she loves makeup and gossiping. As a snooty villager, Sylvia will first appear rude and arrogant towards the player, often talking about herself and her own experiences. She also speaks about the style and appearance of other villagers, usually other female villagers such as normal, peppy, and other snooty villagers. She will soon warm up to the player, confiding in them about their own feelings but still keeping subtly rude. Sylvia will not get along with lazy villagers due to them not caring about their appearance or the lazy villagers hating what she eats, and she won't get along with jockvillagers because they will question her on her physical appearance and they won't worry about fashion. However, she will get along with cranky villagers due to their similar rude personalities, and usually normal villagers as well.
Below is a brief description of the sisterly personality. For more information, click here.
Sylvia is a sisterly villager. When befriended, she will give the player fighting tips and teach them ways to relax. Sylvia will also give the player medicine if they are stung by a wasp. Like all sisterly villagers, Sylvia is tough, but she will still care deeply about her appearance. Sylvia has a tendency to stay up very late at night. It is easy to get her picture since developing friendships with sisterly villagers is simple due to her caring and protective nature, sometimes talking to the player about her friendship with her old neighbor's son. Sylvia may get along with jock villagers who share her love of sports, lazy and normal villagers for how laid-back they are, and peppy villagers. However, she may conflict with smug and snooty villagers due to their arrogant nature. Sylvia may clash with cranky villagers due to their similarly stubborn personalities, but often end up becoming best friends.
House
In Animal Forest e+, Sylvia's house has the same furniture styling as Olive's, only that she has changed the wallpaper to the Parlor Wall and the flooring to the Kitchen Flooring. Either K.K. Bossa or Rockin' K.K. is played on her Lovely Stereo. She owns many Lovely items, as well as a full plush bear family. She also has the Flower Chair, the Flower Table, and a wobbelina.
In New Leaf, Sylvia's house has a modern theme. She has four items from the Modern Series, being the bed, the sofa, the cabinet, and the table which displays a pop-up book and a poinsettia. She also owns a small magazine rack, and a baby bed, referencing her joey. She also owns a cassette player that plays Rockin' K.K. Sylvia's wallpaper is the Sleek Wall, and her flooring is the Ceramic Tile.
In New Horizons, like other Sisterly villagers, she will occasionally mention having a fondness for children, but that she thinks she isn't the type of person to have any. This is contradictory to her appearance, as she carries her joey with her at all times.
