There's alot more items, which were distributed to Japan only. Should these mentioned? MerrytonRyan 17:14, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, but if you can't get proper info on them, then don't worry too much. I really need to set up my wifi and get it working again! Perhaps I should buy a new one... Dab 19:21, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
So far there's been the
What's wrong with your WiFi, dab? I question the valentines item... It doesn't seem like content Nintendo have sent out... Wasn't that what villagers distribute? MerrytonRyan 21:04, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Umm, there is actually an official name for these items. They are called "Downloadable Content" or "DLC" (it's actually funny. In certain parts of the world, you get different letters. For example, for the Pikmin hat, people in US get a letter from nintendo... in other parts of the world, people get a letter from Captain Olimar of Hocatate... Maybe if there is DLC that's Eartbound related, we might get a letter from Ness!) --Pokeflora 21:55, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Nintendo call them Distributed Items. DLC is content you manually download, not something scheduled to get delivered to you :) No-where official calls them DLC - only Animal Crossing users call it DLC :) MerrytonRyan 22:08, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Should we add the Fish Windsock Flag Thingy? --Pokeflora 03:45, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

It's best to leave items that haven't been distributed out of articles, especially when the bulk of the information (like the letter) won't be included. MerrytonRyan 13:49, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Sandcastle

Aww, I would of prefered a stack of lilos to lie on. Merryton, what do you think of Aekyra's sudden re-appearance? She seems to have an air of finality about her. But she know's what she's doing, which is good. BadMeep 12:32, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

I feel bad for asking, but who is Aekyra? :P Have you got your Wii connected to the internet yet? I remember you said a while ago you had problems :) Lilos would be awesome though, but you could use designs laid on the ground as towels (I did it in Wild World to decorate for the summer xP) MerrytonRyan 12:37, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
She created the site four years ago, and hath now returneth. No, but I haven't tried in a while. BadMeep 12:40, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Ohhh, the creator! I had this weird idea it was either a villager or Aelita who is a character from Code Lyoko :P Has she returned for a while? Would be interesting to see what she thinks of the damage we have done! You're missing out on some interesting items. Speaking of which, there was a Mayor design sent around the US (I think) which needs adding! MerrytonRyan 12:42, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Who's got a Japanese copy of City Folk? -- Dragonfree 20:07, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Umm guys, I've searched all over the internet for this info. Should it be added or not?--Pokeflora 15:33, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

It really needs pictures to go with it, otherwise it's just meaningless text which won't be as informative as it should be :) MerrytonRyan 20:11, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Dolphin should be in the list, and his a picture. {{SUBST:User:Crystal lucario/Sig2}}
The Dolphin is already in this list. --Pokeflora 23:05, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Just added the newest item- the hopscotch flooring. Don't know anything about Europe or Japan distribution though. THought someone might want to add it to the CF start page as the current distribution. Bianchiea5 18:22, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

The hopscotch floor has been added to the DLC News section on the main page. We really need pictures of these items, so that they can be added to the page. I think we may need to consider making seperate pages for the US, JP and EU items, but some items are released for more than one area which will make it incredibly untidy to do... What does everyone else think? Please post your suggestions (and not just go ahead and make them, like alot of some people seem to do -.-) MerrytonRyan 19:34, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Here are items that i didn't include yet; Eggplant Cow, Ladder Shades, Hopscotch Flooring, and Gamecube Chest/Gamecube Dresser. --Pokeflora 03:54, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Things removed from page

Below have been removed because they do not follow the same format. They can be re-added when:

  • The cost to buy them from Tom Nook has been added.
  • A catalogue image has been added.
  • The letter is quoted.
  • When it was released and when it was made unavailable.
  • Why it was released (if possible, some don't have a real reason).

Until then, they have been removed.

Hot Dog Hat

The Hot Dog Hat was distributed upon the first day of Summer. It was available between July 1st and July 20th.

Dear <Player>,
It's the season for picnics and sports.
But this item is for wearing,
not for wearing. I hope you knew that though.

Dolphin Model

File:Mjkbg.jpg

The Dolphin Model and it's details (from [www.Nintendo.com)]

The Dolphin Model was released to celebrate New Play Control! Pikmin's release in Europe.

Ladder Shades Delay

Bwahahaha! I know why the Ladder Shades were delayed, or at least I have a theory:

If you hack and decide to make a new item, you will need to take up a special slot in the game. Somebody hacked and took the slot that the Ladder Shades were supposed to come in to, as a result, the Ladder shades weren't given. If you know how to hack into the game and make new furniture, you know what I'm talking about. Later, they moved the Ladder Shades DLC spot some other slot, to keep people in mind that they didn't forget. ^^

International Letters

The letter that I just got with my model bus is different from the one on this page. I'm pretty sure the one I got with the Pikmin hat is different as well. I figured it was because I was in Europe. Is it? If so, I'll add any I can find. On a related note, how did I just get a model bus? I thought it ended ages ago. 82.31.22.119 20:08, February 27, 2010 (UTC) (jakeyboy)

Chocolate Hearts

In 2009, I got a chocolate heart in a letter from a neighbor (luckily female), so does this count as a DLC item? Super duh... AlpacaDoggie Mask 23:43, May 11, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure about this either... If it happens yearly it's something in the game, like the carnation presents from dad and mom. I have a feeling it isn't a distributed item though, because having a villager distribute gifts is quite impressive, seeing as the usually distributors are Pete and Wendell and it seems like alot of hassle for Nintendo to code it so a villager gifts out the gift, rather than a letter from Pete by an "anonymous sender" - MerrytonRyan 12:44, May 12, 2010 (UTC)
He got it in the mail. Am i right super a? Anyhoo, ur most befriended villager of the oppisite gender seds it. Its for Valentine Day. NintendoLover 01:15, August 6, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, so I go to turn on WiiConnect24, thinking it was off, and it has apparently been on. Why am I not receiving most of the special items? I didn't get the wildflower floor, but I got the guard look.

Uhhh, quick question. Why are you asking this when everyone is pretty much asleep? That being said, why aren't you asleep? Why are you still on the wiki so late? ~~C-Star55~~

Future DLC

Just wondering if there are any legitimate resources available that could indicate whether more items will be distributed in the future, as of 2011? Perhaps a Nintendo blog or something of that sort? Also, as is my custom, I've traversed and edited a couple of game wikia's lately and I wanted to point out that when I see a nice one, I make sure to say it (fav is probably left4dead wiki). This is a nice wiki, and has been very helpful. Keep up the good work guys, and happy new years! :) Goodbyekitty 01:13, January 1, 2011 (UTC)

Splitting the Page

Does anyone else think we should split this page up? This page could be the main article talking about DLC, and then we could add links to the Distributed Items (New Leaf) page and another for City Folk, Basically, what the Fish page is like - there are links to fish that appear in all games on different pages, with the main Fish page talking about what fish are in the game.
