Merging Fish with Fishing[]

I reckon we merge this with Fish. ~~~~Dragonfree97 16:16, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Agreed, so far the Fish page is just a list of fish, needs more to it. Jake 17:36, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
The fish page should be like a contents page for all of the fish pages, and it has a link back to the main page of the FishyBuggyPedia (FBP for short). It also has info on fishing and the different rods. Dragonfree97 19:31, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Octopus[]

As octopus can refer to either the villager species, or a fish, I created an ambiguation page at Octopus with Octopus (villager) for the villagers, and Octopus(fishing) for the fish. I see that some pages have linked to Octopus (fish) which is a better name, and thus propose that Octopus (fish) be the correct page (meaning it also needs info filled in), and Octopus(fishing) be deleted. At the moment, Octopus(fishing) just redirects to this page. -Fleurione 17:11, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

House Key[]

Hey guys, just wondering what you lot suggest about adding an article for the house key which villagers tend to lose. I swear there was an article on here somewhere, but all possible search options don't come up with anything and I tried editing the house key into the "Fish that aren't fish" section, but it didn't look right so cancelled. Anyone got any ideas? It'd be good to see what everyone thinks :) MerrytonRyan 18:08, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

I think it's a good idea. I am sure I remember a page too...! Perhaps it could go under the Trash heading, or rename it to 'Trash and Other' ? -Fleurione 23:07, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

I'm so glad I'm not alone in thinking there was one, but no search pages seem to come up with anything :/ Aswell as this fishing page, where should the house key information go? There's not alot to talk about in seperate page, but there isn't really a page it can go on that springs to mind MerrytonRyan 23:25, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Is it a specific quest, or just another of those mini quests you do for villagers? If it helps in boosting your friendship, perhaps on the Animal friendship guide (ACWW)? (which needs updating to be a guide for all games btw.) -Fleurione 12:01, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

'Rubbish' Fish[]

Perhaps it's incorrect to call the Sea Bass 'Rubbish' under the timing section? How about 'common'? Dab 11:07, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Shark image[]

Sharky

Here we go, I think we need this! BadMeep 09:06, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

How comes everyone is getting images I was getting (and took) for some pages? I took one of a shark and of fireflies :( Ah well, beats me uploading them I guess :P
Oops! And there's me, encouraging others to upload featured photos! BadMeep 16:19, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Meh, I'll work faster at editing and upload in the future! Speaking of which, is the shark shadow different in City Folk? The fin didn't have such an obvious white streak either side as far as I remember. It's either that, or seeing a shark while fishing shocked me, much like that Oak Silk Moth :S MerrytonRyan 19:20, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Whenever i ever found an oak silk moth, it always used to make me jump... :(I) -- Dragonfree 19:52, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
I saw one, but the moment I slowed down and armed myself, it flew off. It makes such a scary noise though! Not very nice when hunting tarantulas :( MerrytonRyan 19:56, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
I think I mentioned something about that on the tarantula talk page... BadMeep 19:58, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Just Asking[]

For New Leaf, do you need to just press the A button once when you get the signal to reel in the fish, or do you need to mash the A button. It's just been a while since I've done some fishing in that game and I can't remember if it's just press it once or mash. Pikatwig (talk) 04:24, April 4, 2018 (UTC)

You only need to press once. Celestial of the Sphere of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception ~ ShadeTempest (Talk/Message Wall) 07:19, April 4, 2018 (UTC)
Alright, thank you. Pikatwig (talk) 16:43, April 4, 2018 (UTC)
If you are like me you press it with the strength of a thousands suns. Makes no difference, but feels powerful... XD~Emilysara (Questions?) 08:35, May 24, 2019 (UTC)

About the Recent Edit: May 24th, 2019 edit![]

Hi, everyone! Recently I made a huge edit on the Fishing page that removed a lot of content and added that to the fish page. Mainly because there is a difference between the noun fish and the verb fish. Here are some Google definitions.

  • Fish, noun: a limbless cold-blooded vertebrate animal with gills and fins and living wholly in water.
  • Fishing, verb: catch or try to catch fish, typically by using a net or hook and line.

Now that you know some definitions anything that doesn't pertain to the act of fishing should be in fish and vice versa. That means when describing what a fish is, the similarities of a fish, the differences of fish and trash, etc. I did leave some info there because you can catch those things but describing what they are should be directed to their respective page or on the fish page. If you have any more questions feel free to reply here and I may or may not get to it early enough. ~Emilysara (Questions?) 08:47, May 24, 2019 (UTC)
