A tree branch is a crafting material that was first introduced in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It is obtained by shaking trees. Each day, a number of trees around the island may have dropped a tree branch on their own. Although a branch will not drop every time a tree is shaken, there is no limit to how many branches can be harvested from a single tree, making tree branches an infinite resource. Up to 14 tree branches can be dropped from a tree in a single space. The player must collect the tree branches before the tree can drop any more.
At the beginning of the game, the first items that Tom Nook asks the player to collect are tree branches.
