Oh! Who on Earth are you?! ...Are you my evil twin?
― Viché, New Leaf

Viché (みさき, Misaki) is a normal squirrel villager from the Animal Crossing series, introduced in the Welcome amiibo update. Viché appears in the campground when a Marie amiibo is scanned in the game and can be invited to live in the player's town. She is the older sister of Cece. Her quote seems to be correcting Cece's quote, "TWO heads are better than one."

Along with other RV-exclusive villagers, Viché can't be invited to the town if their own house is still present in the town. Once they have packed boxes and left, they may be "adopted" again.

Appearance[]

Viché is described as a cosplayer dressed as Marie of the Squid Sisters from Splatoon. She has light green fur, with a darker green stripe on her tail. She has a black mask-like marking on her face, resembling Inklings from the Splatoon game, alongside gray-colored eyebrows. Her nose and the insides of her ears are colored yellow. She has a beauty mark on the left side of her face.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the normal personality. For more information, click here.

Viché has a normal personality, and frequently acts kind towards the player. Normal villagers generally get along well with lazy, peppy, smug, snooty, and other normal villagers. Viché may conflict with cranky and sisterly villagers. As a normal villager, Viché will usually wake up at 6:00 am and is easier to befriend than most. Both normal and peppy villagers reference an unseen friend known as Moppina.

Trivia[]

  • Viché is a reference to Marie from Splatoon. She is one of three villagers that pays homage to the other franchise's characters, the others beings Cece and Inkwell.
    • Alongside Cece and Inkwell, she is the only villager designed after a character from another Nintendo franchise that is not directly named after said character.
  • Different meanings can be found in Viché's names across the different translations.
    • Cece and Viché's English names are, when combined, a pun on the seafood dish "ceviche," similarly to how Callie and Marie, the Splatoon characters they represent, are a combined pun on the seafood dish "calamari." Viché is also pronounced similarly to "fishy."
    • Her French name, Mara, along with Cece's, Kala, recreate the Squid Sisters' "calamari" pun. Mara shares with Marie the same origins from the Latin Maria, meaning "bitter", "marine", or "a drop of the sea".
    • Her Japanese and Korean name, Misaki (みさき; 미사키), means "beautiful" and/or "blossom". It may also be a reference to popular Japanese singers such as Misaki Kuno (久野 美咲), Misaki Ito (伊東 美咲), or Misaki Iwasa (岩佐 美咲).
    • Her German name, L-Pyon, is an abbreviation of Marie's German name, Limone, with the added suffix -pyon (a Japanese onomatopoeia for rabbits and frogs hopping, that was also a jovial catchphrase popular in in the 1980s)
    • Her Spanish name, Ardelta, may be a portmanteau of Ardelle (a name meaning "eager" or "industrious") and delta (a landform at the mouth of a river where it empties into a body of water).
    • Her Italian name, Vicky, is a diminutive of the name Victoria, meaning "victory". This is likely in reference to how Splatoon is a fundamentally competitive game. It is also similarly spelled to Viché.
  • Viché shares a birthday with Bree. Both of their birthdays are on July 7th.
