You know what I don't like? People talking about others behind their backs. Can you think of anyone else that does that, nyet?
― Vladimir, City Folk
Vladimir (ガビ, Gabi?) is a cranky cub villager from the Animal Crossing series. "Vladimir" is a traditional Russian name, and "nyet," Vladimir's catchphrase, is Russian for "no", referencing his cranky personality. He was absent in Wild World but reappeared in City Folk,New Leaf and New Horizons. He appears on the album cover for K.K. Parade. He has the play hobby.

Vladimir in Animal Crossing

Vladimir is a pink cub with a bubblegum pink-tipped muzzle and paws. He has a scruff of blond hair and a bucktooth. His eyebrows are thick. In Animal Forest, Vladimir's fur is magenta, and his muzzle isn't light pink like in later games, but he still has his other features such as his hair, face, and muzzle. He initially wears the Tiger Print in Animal Crossing, and the Lite Polka Tee in City Folk and New Leaf. Vladimir carries the Flame Umbrella when it rains. He has a very similar appearance to Ed, with the same hair colour and same shirt.

Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.
Cranky villagers will usually appear in a grouchy or agitated mood and are more difficult to befriend than most other villager types. When talking to the player, cranky villagers tend to become angry if the player disagrees with them or refuses to do a favor. Like all cranky villagers, Vladimir will be invested in his hobby and will often challenge the player to various competitions. He will easily get along with jock, snooty and other cranky villagers, and occasionally lazy and normal villagers as well. However, he will find it hard to socialize with peppy villagers, as they will seem overstimulated or immature. Vladimir will also enjoy spreading rumors about other villagers.

In City Folk, he has various items from the Construction Theme, like the handcart, jackhammer, and steam roller. He eventually starts collecting furniture from the Robot Series. His reel-to-reel player plays Agent K.K. He has the chainlink fence as his wallpaper, and his flooring is the sandlot floor, which can only be obtained from Saharah.

Profile There's a reason Vladimir's so mean. Look at him! If you were all pink and stuff, you'd be mean too. Seriously though, he's just tired of people nibbling on his head to see if he tastes like cotton candy.

  • Russians are stereo-typically associated with bears, likely why Vladimir is a cub.
  • To add to that, he may be based off of Russian president Vladimir Putin, as Mr. Putin is blond and joked about having pinkish skin.
