Wasp nest

A wasp nest (beehive prior to New Horizons) is an item that falls out of up to five trees in town each day after the player shakes the trunk or cuts them down. When it falls, the player will display a shocked emotion and a swarm of angry wasps/bees will come out from the hive and chase the player until stung, caught by a net, or if the player enters a building. In New Leaf and New Horizons, beehives can be collected and sold for 500 bells and 300 bells, respectively.

In New Leaf[]

In New Leaf, they can be picked up after being shook from the trees, whether the player is stung or not, the beehive can be sold for 500 Bells at Re-Tail. Beehives (or more specifically honey from the beehive) may also appear as an ingredient for the Harvest Festival. When the town's gates are opened, beehives will not spawn when trees are shaken.

In New Horizons[]

In New Horizons, they can also be picked up after being shook from the trees, whether the player is stung or not, the beehive can be sold for 300 Bells. Wasp nests can be used to craft Medicine after the player is stung and requires 1 nest and 3 clumps of weeds in order to craft. It can also be used to craft Beekeeper's hive using 3 nests and 5 wood.
